Paw Prints

Well, it’s a beautiful Saturday morning, the election mess is finally over and I can get my whole mind back on the book. Comments from my Beta Readers and my editor are in and most have been incorporated into the book. I’ll finish that this afternoon and spend tomorrow doing a final read myself. Then, I’ll submit my files to a printer to get a bound proof copy. If I’m happy with the proof, I’ll submit a printing order. If not, I’ll try another printer. No matter what, I’ll have copies ready to ship by Dec. 1. Then, the fun starts.

The first thing I have to do is to make prints of Schroedinger’s paw to make a rubber stamp so he can sign the book. I’ll do that outside to keep the house clean. I’ve asked Sandy to buy another box of band-aids so I’ll be prepared for the task. I’ll be sure to tell him what’s going to happen before I start and ask for his cooperation. Then, I’ll hope for the best, having prepared for the worst.

The sun is out today, but it’s colder than usual. The change was quite sudden. We went from the 80’s during the day to the 60’s in one day. Schroedinger has refused to go outside, though I’ve held the door open for him several times. It seems that the cold bothers him more as he grows older. Usually he walks outside, sniffs and turns around and comes back inside, but today he won’t even go out.

Well, it’s time to get back to work on the book.
