The first post of the New Year. How exciting. Hope you’ve all recovered from your New Year’s celebrations.
In the last days of 2020, I was lying in bed and Sandy was putting drops into my eyes to help me recover from cataract surgery. As an aside, it was great. The surgery, I mean. No pain and all gain. The time I spent worrying was totally wasted. Two days after the first eye was done, I could identify small planes flying by; something I hadn’t been able to do for a couple of years. That was important to me since I was a pilot and an aeronautical engineer. I’ll put the aside aside now and continue.
After the drops, she stood by my side and rubbed my head. She’s really nice that way. Schroedinger saw what was going on and walked across the desk to the night table and thence, to the bed. He looked up at Sandy and gave a deep, strong, short but commanding “Meowr”. It is very unusual for him to vocalize. She began to rub his back with her free hand and he began to purr, contentedly. I can only conclude that he was jealous. If I ever compile a dictionary of his sounds, the definition of that one will be: - “What am I, chopped liver?”
