Well, here’s the first post for the new website for my new book, “Schroedinger The Wonder Cat”. As I write this, the site isn’t even up, but that should happen within the next week.
It’s an auspicious day for the book. Today, I purchased an ISBN Number (International Standard Book Number) that appears in the barcode used to scan your purchase into the cash register, or, nowadays, the point of sale system. For those of you who may be numerologists, the number is 978-0-578-73229-9. If anyone can make anything of that, please let me know using the “Contact Us” page of the website and you might be surprised to find a copy of the book on your doorstep when it’s available.
In addition to this post, I also wrote and sent enough material to build the Home, Author and Book pages. Oh Boy! Writing the book is only a part of all that has to be done to publish it. I have to have a website for the book and one for the publishing company – I self-publish. The public will buy the book from the first and re-sellers will buy it from the second. Marketing the book will also be a very major effort. My experience with my first book has left a bad taste in my mouth for the book industry. Because of that, I have decided to put all my marketing efforts into selling the book through pet related businesses, rather than through bookstores. I feel confident that will work, but there is always the fall-back position of going to the bookstores.
