One Pampered Kitty

This morning we awoke to cooler than usual weather for this time of year. The mid 50’s to be exact. When we get up, Schroedinger always lets us know he wants to go outside. This morning was no different. We opened the door, he went out and a few minutes later he came back in. He did not want to go outside again. Instead, he let Sandy – his Mom – know that he wanted to get into her bed and wanted her heating pad turned on. She understands him better than I do. After he got his way, he settled down on the heating pad and went right to sleep, as you can see in the photo. He sure knows what he wants!

Meanwhile, the book is nearing completion. Just a few more touch-ups for the writing and a few more photos and illustrations and it will be ready to go to a few beta readers. After any changes resulting from their comments then it goes to the editor.

Then comes the really hard part – marketing. So far I’ve made some attempts at letting pet people know about the book, but the results have been underwhelming. I’m sure it will be easier when I have printed copies on hand.

Hopefully, the fire danger has passed in our area. We were under threat of having to evacuate for a couple of days as the fire was only about 7 miles away. Last year we did have to leave for 2 days. Fortunately for our neighborhood, the wind changed and the fire is now partially contained. Preparation to evacuate includes having an up to the minute copy of the book on a flash drive which I can slip into my pocket. Between the fire and the virus, life is somewhat screwed up. Oh well.
